We’ve all seen plenty of marketing devices at POS in supermarkets. There’s so much choice! If you’re looking to create a cohesive print marketing strategy for your supermarket, look no further… We take a look at supermarket marketing and what you need to promote your products and offers in store.
1. Proper signage
It’s essential in a large scale store to have proper signage. This involves a wide variety of different printed products. We would firstly recommend durable PVC banners to hang outside, advertising what’s in store and any new offers. This will draw customers into your supermarket. If you’re in a particularly windy spot, invest in a Mesh banner – this will allow wind to travel through the design, meaning it won’t flap around or fly away!
As your customers come into the store, you want to ensure you have adequate signage indoors. We’d recommend large scale posters at eye level and on the windows, advertising in store promotions. As your customers enter, it’s a good idea to have a roller banner at the entrance, directing customers, offering up new promotions or reminding customers to sanitize their hands, baskets and trolleys.
2. Floor vinyl graphics
We’ve all seen vinyl floor graphics over the past 18 months, demonstrating a 2 meter gap for adequate social distancing. These nifty devices can be used for just about anything – to direct customers to a specific area, to the tills or to the toilets!
Why not get creative and create some custom made designs – for example, do you have an aisle temporarily full of valentines’ gifts? Lead customers there with a floor graphic heart trail!
3. Strut cards
Strut cards are incredibly handy signage at POS. Erect these nifty little signs to encourage customers to pay by card or contactless. They’re also ideal to remind customers to pick up a loyalty card or to donate to a charity with their purchases.
4. Shelf wobblers
No supermarket marketing strategy would be complete without shelf wobblers! These amazing, versatile devices are cost-effective and reusable. Create your own custom designs to promote new products, offers or in-store promotions. Then, simply adhere your shelf wobbler to your supermarket shelf and watch as they catch the eyes’ of all that pass.
Shelf wobblers help to draw the eye to a specific product or promotion. This is because they jut out from the conventional eye line and are constantly slightly moving. We are hard-wired to recognise movement, so the brain will focus more on this particular bit of signage as it’s the only one that moves constantly!
